My first website went live in 1998 — the same year Google launched. I've been building for the web ever since, through every platform, every framework, every major shift the industry has gone through. By 2002 I was running a CMS-driven web business in Montreal, a full year before WordPress even existed. That history is not a footnote. It's the reason I can solve problems other developers can't.
WordPress is a delivery vehicle. What it runs on — the server, the database, the PHP, the DNS, the security layer — is where most WordPress developers stop knowing things. I don't.
Not every WordPress developer has built systems at scale. Here's where mine has been tested:
Custom gift card system built by hand for one of Canada's largest restaurant companies. 179 commits, launched 2019, still in production today across all their brands.
Primary technical person for 6 years. Full WordPress infrastructure — web properties, WooCommerce, marketing tech. Zero unplanned downtime across the entire relationship.
Canada's national hemophilia organization. Primary tech person, currently leading a full rebrand and web migration to a new name and identity.
Non-profits, fitness businesses, ecommerce stores, professional services — all hosted, maintained, and developed on WordPress infrastructure I manage directly.
From a simple business site to a complex multi-language ecommerce platform — if it runs on WordPress, I can build it, fix it, or improve it.
Built from scratch, no bloated page builders. Clean, fast, accessible, and maintainable. I build themes the way WordPress was meant to work — with the template hierarchy, proper hooks, and code you can actually read.
When there's no plugin that does exactly what you need, I build one. Custom post types, meta boxes, REST API endpoints, admin interfaces, integrations with third-party services.
Full WooCommerce builds, custom payment gateway integration, product configurators, subscription systems, and Shopify migrations. Ecommerce that actually converts.
English/French WordPress sites built correctly — WPML, Polylang, hreflang tags, bilingual SEO, language switchers. The technical side of multilingual is where most developers make expensive mistakes.
Slow WordPress is almost always fixable. Database optimization, caching configuration, image pipelines, Core Web Vitals, server-level tuning. I find the bottleneck and eliminate it.
Security audits, malware removal, brute-force protection, file integrity monitoring, and post-attack forensics. I've seen every common WordPress attack vector and know how to close them permanently.
Moving from another platform, rebuilding an outdated site, or migrating to a new host. Clean migrations with zero data loss and minimal downtime. I've done hundreds.
WordPress Multisite setup, configuration, and management. Subdomain and subdirectory networks, shared plugin/theme management, per-site customization.
ActiveCampaign, Stripe, Shopify, custom REST APIs, mobile app backends. If your WordPress needs to talk to something else, I can make it happen cleanly.
I manage a multi-server Linux hosting infrastructure with 30+ active client accounts — DirectAdmin, CSF firewall, PHP-FPM pool tuning per client, Apache hardening, bot mitigation, offsite redundant backups, and SSL. All of it managed personally. When something breaks at 2am, I'm the one with root who fixes it — not a support ticket queue. My hosting brand is securitywebhost.com — security isn't an add-on here, it's the foundation.
"I've worked with Jer for years on projects most developers would find overwhelming. He handles it all — fast, clear, and without drama. When I needed someone for my own site, the decision took about five seconds."
"Of all the many hats a personal trainer or gym owner has to wear, fussing over how to make, manage, or update a website can feel like a full-time job. Jer and I have been working together for several years, and I don't know what I would have done without him. He's professional, he's efficient, he doesn't blow smoke up your 'you know where', and he doesn't make you feel like you need to take out a second mortgage to afford him. If you're on the fence, here's your opportunity to hop off of it."
"Jer is incredible to work with, he's skilled, knowledgeable, and has helped bring ideas for my website and business to life that makes my job infinitely easier. His communication skills are second to none. I highly recommend him!"
"Working with Jeremy has been a breath of fresh air. He communicates clearly, solves problems quickly, and makes complex technology feel manageable. I highly recommend Jeremy to anyone looking for reliable and thoughtful tech support."
Whether you need a new site built, an existing one rescued, or someone reliable to just keep things running — I've seen it all and fixed most of it.
